I am basing my main question on
What Happens when you mix Diet coke and Mentos together?
Some sub questions so far are
What ingrediants 2 or more sets off this reaction?
What makes these to ingrediants have a reaction?
Do they have to be in the form of coke and mentos?
Can u have the same affect of just these 2 ingrediants or do u need more?
Will it go higher or lower with the main ingrediants only?
How high can this go?
What else can you do with these 2 things?
How many mentos does it take to go very high?
does it go higher in more amounts?
what is the best way to make this work?
I plan to test on how high the coke sprays by the following methods:
1. I will get mentos and diet coke and just drop in the whole packet from a cylender so the go in faster.
2. Next i will try and close the lid before the reaction happens and shake it up then open it.
3. Then i will drill a hole into the lid ad the mentos then thread a peice of string through both and place the mentos on the bottom of the lid then pull the strong out and it will fly through a tiny hole.
4. I will change the amount of mentos inserted in each idea.
I have found the website for the mithbusters episode that explains the ingrediants used to set this off and will get the information from other places and do some of my own tests.
I plan to show the class my best working way of setting off the diet coke and mentos and make a model to make it go the highest.
These will most likely answere most of my so far questions because that is just basically the testing phase of my project.

What i have done so far
I have started testing on the diet coke and mentos and trying different things that are in both together to find out what makes the reaction i have tried about 4 different things like mentos and diet coke normal then shaking it then with rock salt all which worked but didnt do much to get it high so i am trying a new way by making smaller holes for the coke to fly through i have found some videos showing me how to do it properly and what ingrediants to use.
